Bibs with a 3/4 length are a great alternative to regular (non-thermal) bibs with knee warmers because of the thermal coverage for the knees, thighs and rise. They are also a good option for those who may run hot and prefer less coverage in the lower legs. These thermal water repelling tights have been designed specifically for chilly conditions where rain, drizzle and road spray may be present during your ride. They are ideal for conditions one would normally associate with the Pacific Northwest, but because of their excellent breathability and 3-season usability are also a great choice for rides or commuting in temperatures between 35° - 55° F.

We engineered them with a cozy, brushed fleece interior and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR-coated) exterior. For additional protection, we strategically paneled a 3-layer waterproof fabric that covers the lower-back and chamois areas (saddle touchpoints) exposed to cold road spray. The Alpine Thermal Tight is a must-have for your cool-weather cycling gear. Designed to slide over summer-weight shorts or bibs, it adds a comfortable mid-weight layer of warmth for chilly rides. It can be easily removed, even with shoes on, as temperatures rise or before an early morning race. Compact enough to roll and store in a jersey or jacket pocket or toss into your kit bag.

Please note that these tights do not include a chamois and are intended to be worn over shorts with a chamois.

FABRICS & CONSTRUCTION

The Alpine Thermal Tight features our new stretchy, Roubaix thermal fabric which provides mid-weight warmth while maintaining exceptional breathability. A reduction in hip and leg paneling makes for a cleaner style and enhanced comfort for long training rides. A tall yoga-style waistband provides better coverage and is more comfortable than shorter waistband styles, and when combined with elastic around the back, you’ll find the perfect balance of stay-in-place fit in the riding position. Large, bright (350+ lumens) reflective strip on the back of the calf enhance visibility in low-light, winter conditions. Two reflective hip logos offer extra visibility. Zip-closures at the ankles allows for easy on/off, even while wearing shoes.

These thermal, wind and water resistant tights have been designed specifically for cold rain, sleet and snow conditions, and windy temperatures between 0° - 40°F. They are ideal for frigid, winter conditions and/or for riders who may run cold and want the very best in the way of cold weather protection. They have been engineered with a cozy, brushed fleece interior and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR-coated) exterior for excellent protection on flex-points of the legs and hips. For additional protection against freezing road spray we have strategically paneled a 3-layer membrane material with cozy fleece backing in the lower-back area above the chamois and other primary wet-out areas (top of legs, calves, shins).

DWR Storm+ fleece material is used in critical-stretch areas for better mobility and comfort. For added safety in low-light, winter conditions we used super bright (350+ lumens) reflective logos and strips on the back of the calves (reflective in motion is ideal for optimal visibility). The Vertex Tight is another one of our pieces that has been vigorously tested in Colorado's frigid winter temps and bears our proprietary WX-D, weather defense seal.
